So, I caved in and bought a digital compact point and shoot.
This one was a little bit of a challenge and I gritted my teeth while ordering. Since I'm so used to large Digital SLR's for my photography I felt like i was downsizing too much.
BUT i needed something i could throw in my purse (or pocket) for those unexpected photo moments.
I haven't received the camera yet, so I'm anxiously awaiting to see what this small package brings.
I've heard it's the best compact camera so far for Nikon. Great shutter speed. 14 MP. Great focal distance.

What digital compact camera do YOU have and why do you like it?
Now, I do realize I'm NOT a photographer at all, but I have to say that there's nothing wrong with Point and Shoots...So, don't feel like you're "lowering yourself down" or anything. They are VERY handy -- which I why I think I have soooo many really good photos of Luke at all different kinds of places -- you know, non-posed photos of him just "doing things." So, I think you'll really like it.
